In January 2015, Meredith began her role as Communications Manager for the Finger Lake Performing Provider System, part of the New York State Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program. This transition followed seven years with Anthony L. Jordan Health Corporation where she was part of the senior management team representing marketing, communications and community engagement. Meredith served with the U. S. Peace Corps as a Forestry Volunteer in Ghana, West Africa from 1998 to 2000 and earned a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of the Science (Biology) from Clarkson University. Meredith lives in Rochester, New York with her Husband Glen and two children, Hanna and Charlie.
Peter W. Blind
A life-long native of the Rochester area and resident of Greece, N.Y., Peter completed studies at Aquinas Institute, Wadhams Hall College, and Niagara University prior to enlisting and serving honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He was employed for 20 years in various supervisory positions in public service and private industry, followed by 21 years managing several states, county, and federally funded non-profit organization vocational programs. From 2000 to 2010, Peter served as Vice President of Workforce Development for the Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. (VOC) and from 2010 to 2012 as VP of Programs and Services until his retirement. His tenure at VOC included securing 38 government and private foundation grants to serve over 4,000 homeless and at-risk veterans and their families. These initiatives included the first veterans “green” vocational program in New York.
Sara has spent the last decade working in the realm of urban environmental education- both in the traditional classroom and in the (garden and farm) field. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Pace University and a Bachelor of the Arts in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College. Sara currently works as the City of Rochester’s Coordinator of Horticulture and Environmental Programming. In this role, she is privileged to interact with people that are interested in stewarding the beautiful and abundant natural resources that are found within our city limits. Sara is a (proud) native Rochesterian that lives in the Maplewood area with her partner and four (awesome) cats.
D.J. Kitzel is a certified English teacher for Canandaigua City Schools and licensed New York State Guide for Pack, Paddle, Ski Corp. He earned a Master of Arts in adolescent development and considers himself a perpetual student of wilderness skills. With his son and daughter, he also works summers as a stonemason and handyman. D.J. believes strongly in the value and mission of Earthworks Institute to serve communities in the Rochester area.
In May of 2010, Ted graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies. Before beginning his professional career, he spent 5 months traveling through the southern portion of South America, visiting cities such as Buenos Aires, El Chalten, La Paz, and much more. After returning to Rochester, Ted spent 18 months working on energy retrofits and renewable energy options for residential clients before joining the family flooring business in 2013. Ted’s appreciation for the environment and the outdoors began at a young age during annual summers spent in the Adirondack Mountains. Recently, Ted successfully led his company’s efforts to have the first solar installation in the historic Village of Pittsford.
Carmen has spent over 16 years working in the City of Rochester with youth ages 5-18. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Monroe Community College. Carmen currently works as the Youth Camp Supervisor with the Afterschool in The Park program in Cobb’s Hill Park under City of Rochester Recreation and Youth Services department. In this role, she is honored to work with diverse youth from many different school districts and families of many different backgrounds and cultures. Carmen is a proud Rochesterian who born in the inner city and has lived here for 34 years and now has a 14-year-old daughter of her own who she is molding to follow in her footsteps.
William J. Reddy
Bill is a graduate of Aquinas Institute, received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester. He retired as Vice President and Controller after 35 years at Rochester Gas and Electric and then, after 23 years on the Board of Directors, worked for 9 years as the Chief Financial Officer of Veterans Outreach Center. He is President of Reddy and Son Development, LLC and is active in the community. Bill is a Vietnam veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He is married, has two grown children and resides along the shore of Lake Ontario in Greece, NY.
